A Fresh and Easy Pasta Dish in Just One Pot
This one-pot tomato basil pasta is the ultimate answer to busy weeknights. With juicy cherry tomatoes, garlic, and fragrant basil simmered together with pasta in one pot, you get a rich, flavorful sauce that coats every strand perfectly. Minimal cleanup, maximum flavor.
Ingredients
-
12 oz spaghetti or linguine
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
-
1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
-
4½ cups water or low-sodium vegetable broth
-
1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
-
Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
1. Combine Everything in One Pot
In a large deep skillet or pot, combine pasta, olive oil, garlic, cherry tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pour in the water or broth.
2. Cook Until Pasta is Al Dente
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Reduce heat and simmer for 9–11 minutes, or until pasta is al dente and liquid has mostly absorbed, creating a light sauce.
3. Stir in Basil and Serve
Remove from heat. Stir in fresh basil. Serve immediately topped with grated Parmesan and a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
