Bring a taste of Italy to your table with this hearty and delicious Chicken Parmesan Baked Ziti. Combining chicken, parmesan cheese, and ziti pasta, this dish leaves a memorable flavor on your palate. Its simplicity and rich taste make it a staple for your dinner gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 chicken breasts, cubed
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the cubed chicken to the skillet, season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
  5. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti, chicken mixture, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  7. Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.

Tips and Variations

  • For added flavor, you can mix in sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers with the chicken.
  • Use whole wheat ziti for a healthier version.
  • If you like a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
