Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound chicken breast, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add broccoli and mushrooms. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still crisp, and the mushrooms are browned.
  3. Add the garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine.
  5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

  • For a vegetarian version, replace chicken with tofu or tempeh.
  • Add other vegetables like bell peppers or snow peas for extra color and nutrition.
  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste by adding chili flakes for a spicy kick.
