Fresh Peach Cobbler

This classic Fresh Peach Cobbler is a warm, comforting dessert bursting with juicy peach flavor. Easy to make and deliciously satisfying, it’s the perfect treat for any season, especially summer when peaches are at their peak.

Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 6-8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (about 6 cups)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For the Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Stir well, then sprinkle with cornstarch and stir until evenly coated. Set aside for 5-10 minutes to let the juices form.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. In another mixing bowl, prepare the topping by whisking together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter over the peach filling, spreading it gently with a spatula to cover the peaches evenly. Some gaps are okay.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
  8. Let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Pro Tips

– If you prefer a slightly sweeter filling, add an extra 2 tablespoons of sugar to the peaches.

– For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of milk in the topping.

– This cobbler is also delicious served cold the next day!
