Looking for a fun and delicious treat that’s perfect for parties and autumn gatherings? Try making these adorable mini caramel apples! They’re easy to prepare and a hit with both kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, preferably Granny Smith
  • 1 package (14 oz) of individually wrapped caramels
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1/2 cup of crushed nuts (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
  • Cake pop sticks or skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Using a melon baller, scoop out bite-sized apple balls with the skin on one side.
  2. Insert a cake pop stick or skewer into each apple ball, ensuring the skin side is facing down.
  3. Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with the water. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Dip each apple ball into the melted caramel, allowing the excess to drip off.
  5. Optional: Roll the caramel-coated apples in nuts, chocolate chips, or sprinkles for added flavor and decoration.
  6. Place the caramel-coated apples on a baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper. Allow them to cool and set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

  • Ensure apples are dry before dipping to help the caramel adhere better.
